Process

In “The Talent Show Extravaganza” WebQuest, learners will take the role of actors performing a scene in order to fill the role of Dr. Gregory House in the famous TV show Dr. House M.D. The final recorded product requires learners to become familiar with character issues; then in the process we give ordered steps through selected videos about reading and understanding the context of the scene. They will learn previous facts of that scene and details about Dr. House TV show. They will explore the nature of the main character that includes accent and articulation, choosing an outfit, building a set, learning camera and audio management, memorization of a script and dealing with anxiety before performing.

        We made sure learners would find ways to lower their anxiety when acting. We advised them how to practice articulation and acquiring Dr. House accent. Oral situations in classroom setting could increase students’ confidence in language learning process because they realize about what they don’t know, what they know and what they need to know.
